Today, I am sharing such a fun opportunity I had recently!
My good friends have allowed me to help them with interior design plans for their beautiful home in New York. My friend already has beautiful taste and style when it comes to her home, yet she just needed a little guidance in where her design aesthetic may be evolving. I know that I have done posts on Mood Boards before, but these ones were extra special for me because it was for someone else.
I would describe her current style as traditional/farmhouse vibes. Very clean and inviting. She was open and ready for something “new” in her home, so we came to the conclusion together that she liked a natural, organic vibe, with hints of green. MY LOVE LANGUAGE!
The first mood board I created was with her original traditional farmhouse feel. Items from Pottery Barn, that she already owned, were incorporated in the design. Her husband would like to keep his hunted prizes on the wall, so we had to make sure this was included in the design plan.
Here is the BEFORE and current picture of her living room.

We thought this was pretty, but she was wanting something more. I couldn’t have been happier with those words!
I asked her for 3 pictures from Pinterest for Inspiration of what she was wanting. Natual, organic, green are three words that helped guide me to where she wanted to go.
Here is the 2nd Mood Board with the Natural and organic vibes.
I am so in love with this look and so happy that her and her husband feel the same! It brings such a calm vibe, yet functional space for her and her beautiful family. I had to remember that this space has to be kid-friendly with a small one who is easily grabbing and walking for the first time. As much as I wanted to add a big, beautiful floor mirror, it is not practical at this design phase.
These E-Design boards were done with Canva. They can also be done using IG stories. Comment below if you are interested in learning how to do a virtual mood board like the ones above!
We will be moving forward with this design in the next few months. So excited to share the continued process with you all!
