Choosing Artwork for a home space can be an overwhelming task. At least for me.
There are so many different places you can purchase artwork, but nothing adds more character to a space than a one-of-a-kind piece. Especially when it is at NO COST!
I was searching for a long time, too long, for the right piece of artwork for my Work from Home space. Etsy is always my go-to place for printable and affordable artwork. However, I am in this office area of my bedroom a lot. Like a lot….so I wanted it to feel cozy & warm. This was the perfect opportunity to shop my home and see what I could create as a piece of art.
This is so special to me because the focus of this DIY Art/Mood Board is a sweater that my grandfather used to always wear. I have had it laying around since he passed several years ago and have not known what to do with it. It was always just laying around in a corner of the bedroom, with no special purpose. I thought this was a great way to add texture to the base of the mood board. It gives me such a happy feeling when I am creating, and I look up and have a special memory of him.
Here are some of the fun things I added to create this mood board! I hope you find inspiration to SHOP YOUR HOME and make your own special art.
1. Use any trimmings/craft supplies that gives the overall feel of your design aesthetic. I had this red ribbon leftover from last Christmas and love the rustic and red vibes it gives off.
2. Find a FREE piece of Art by searching “free art” on a search engine
3. A souvenir from a favorite place or thing
4. Something with a beautiful memory
5. Something someone has gifted you that has meaning
This is not your AVERAGE mood board but a perfect building block to add some other inspirational items. I plan on added some more positive quotes and maybe some pictures that help me manifest what to bring into the new year!
I hope this inspired you to create something of your own, especially for FREE. It just takes a little time and creativity.
Comment at the bottom of the page if you have tried a DIY Art piece yourself or if this is something that you would like to try.
