The holidays are here and what better way than to welcome family and friends over to your home with a delicious cocktail!
A Cosmo has been my new favorite drink. I love how this recipe makes it taste so light and fruity, yet still leaves you with a slight bitter after taste from the fresh lime juice. This recipe is the perfect addition to a girl’s night in or a signature cocktail for an upcoming holiday party!
The SECRETS to making a Cosmo that sounds out from the rest of your holiday parties is this:
*Finely crushed ice…. like very fine. Take a meat hammer and add ice to a Ziplock bag. Smash until very fine balls or bits of ice
*PINK WHITNEY VODKA instead of Tripple Sec or Cointreau. This is KEY to this recipe feels so light when drinking it. Pink Whitney replaces the heavy feeling of Cointreau and keeps it tasting very refreshing.
*Fresh Cranberries for garnish. You would still use a lime to wet the rim of the glass and for fresh lime juice yet who wants a big slab of lime in your drink? Not me. Going with the flavor and prettiness of fresh cranberries.
An extra TIP is to use a pretty cocktail glass that is easily handled, like a tall Beer glass to avoid spilling. I love these Waterford cocktail/beer glasses since they have much less of a chance of spilling of my brand-new outfit.
Here is the Recipe for the Best Cosmo You Will Ever Have!
- You will need a cocktail glass & shaker
- Finely chopped ice
- Fresh Lime
- Fresh Cranberries
- 1 1/2 oz. Belvedere Vodka
- 3/4 oz. Pink Whitney
- Splash of Cranberry Juice
- Add all ingredients together into a shaker and shake hard for a little frost on the drink. (See video below)
You can adjust recipe accordingly to your taste. Even add sugar to the rim for more sweetness.
I hope you enjoyed this recipe as much as I did 🙂 Let me know if you make one for yourself.
xo,
Alison
