The front of your home is where guests are welcomed. For most, it is where we enter our house daily and invite people in for a cup of coffee or a glass of delicious Cabernet.
I feel this welcoming spot of your home should feel cozy and inviting. It can be simple, yet clean and pretty….setting the vibe for the feeling of the rest of your home.
Our front steps NEEDED a DIY Makeover STAT! We had one mason come and quote out the price of new steps and it was way out of our current budget and knew I could make it look decent on an affordable budget.

After a little research, I decided that I would pick up some cement putty from Lowe’s to fill in the large holes in the stairs. I waited for a cool day to do this because I feel the putty dries easier in cooler conditions.
I used a spackling tool to apply the putty and started from the top of the stairs and worked my way down.
After two days of drying, I then painted the stairs an off white color to brighten the space a bit.
We also added a new door and a storm door to protect the door from warping from the strong sun rays that we see in the late afternoon at our home.
A few flowers, a wreath for the season, and also changed out the 2 front lights that we purchased at Lowe’s on clearance. A few simple changes and the DIY Front Staircase makeover is complete……for now 🙂
This project was under $100 to complete and will keep this area looking clean and inviting until we hire a Mason. 🙂

I hope this somehow inspired you in a way to take on a DIY project yourself. Let me know down below if you did!
